How to Flag Student Fields on Rosters
Districts can now flag specific student fields - either imported from district SIS or collected via custom registration questions - to highlight important information directly on session rosters.
For example, if you flagged the built-in "Allergy" question, and a student's answer is "Yes," the student will be flagged on rosters for district admins, providers, schools, and instructors.
How to Configure a Flagged Field
- Log in to your District Dashboard
- Go to Rosters & Attendance > Customize Student Fields
- Click “Add new config”
- From the list of available fields, choose the one you'd like to flag. The list includes:
- The following built-in fields, which can be mapped from SIS importing for the restricted portal users
- Allergy (Yes/No)
- Dietary restrictions (Yes/No)
- Physical restrictions (Yes/No)
- Special needs (Yes/No)
- General Note
- Medication
- Medical note
- Custom fields imported from your SIS (for restricted portal users)
- Custom registration questions set up on the district dashboard
- The following built-in fields, which can be mapped from SIS importing for the restricted portal users
- Turn on the toggle to “Show Flag”
- Click Save
⚠️ Note: Once a field is flagged, a flag icon will appear on the roster and the Browse Students & Parents pages across all dashboards. For the four built-in Yes/No questions, only 'Yes' triggers the flag. For all other fields, any non-blank response will trigger it. To flag only 'Yes' responses in a custom question, set up the question with a single 'Yes' option.
What Does a Flagged Field Look Like?
As indicated above, when a student has a Yes for the built-in Yes/No field, or a non-blank response for a flagged field, a flag icon will appear next to their name on the roster or on the Browse students & parents page. This helps staff quickly identify students with important needs or conditions.

How to View the Field(s) Triggered the Flag on a Roster
To see which field(s) triggered the flag and the response to the flagged field on the roster:
- Navigate to a roster page (district, school, provider, or instructor dashboard)
- Click “Show/Hide Attributes”
- Check the box next to the flagged field(s)
- These values for each student will now appear in the roster view.
This helps ensure full visibility into key student data.
Best Practices
- Use flagged fields for high-priority data only (e.g. allergies, dietary restrictions, transportation requests, etc)
- Avoid flagging too many fields to keep rosters clean and easy to read
