Require staff to record the time when a student is present by requiring a sign-in before a student can be marked present. This ensures that a timestamp is collected with the attendance entry for compliance and record-keeping.
What This Feature Does
When enabled, staff must complete a sign-in step before they can mark a student as “present.” Attempting to mark a student present before sign-in will trigger a prompt:
How to Enable This Feature
- Go to your Attendance Taking Policy page on the District Dashboard.
- Locate the setting “Require a sign-in when marking a student present” at the bottom of the page.
- Change the default from “No” to “Yes”.
- Click Save.
Once enabled, all session staff will be required to sign students in when they select the present button.
This feature will also work when:
- You require a late sign-in reason for ASES and 21st CCLC compliance.
Why Use This Feature?
- Accurate Timestamps: Ensures a verified sign-in time accompanies attendance records.
- Compliance: Supports district policies that require more precise attendance tracking.
- Streamlined Workflow: Reduces the risk of marking attendance without verifying presence.
