How to set up student grade promotion day (especially important for Summer programs)

This is the day that you'd like your students to advance to the next grade in 6crickets. You typically need to configure this field to prepare for summer program registrations. The goal is to let families use the same grade, either spring grade or fall grade, but not both, when registering their students for sessions throughout the summer. By default, the 6crickets Grade Promotion Day is June 1.

It can be set up from the district dashboard > Basic setup > District profile page

• To use spring grades → Promotion day should be after the last Summer session start date
• To use fall grades → Promotion day should be before the first Summer session start date

SIS Grade Rollover Day

This field is needed only when the SIS import data has at least one row with no high school graduation year, but only the current grade. 6crickets uses the field to infer a high school graduation year from the current grade imported (since 6crickets has no current grade field in our database).

This field can be set during the column mapping step of the SIS sync. If it is not set, it uses 6crickets Grades Promotion Day as the default. 

Please note that there is a 32-hour blackout period surrounding the SIS grade rollover day (Pacific Time). It begins 4 hours before and ends 4 hours after the rollover day. During this time, importing files that contain a student grade column will be blocked, and the following messages will appear on the file import page.
