For sessions with a large number of students, it’s challenging to mark each and every student present/absent or sign them in or out. 6crickets provides a feature that allows you to mark students as present or absent and sign in or out students in large groups to save time.
This feature works for all dashboards, please follow the steps below to access the bulk sign in, bulk sign out and bulk attendance features.
1. Session rosters
From the district, school, or provider dashboards, under "Roster & Analytics", click on "Session rosters".
For instructors, you can go to the instructor dashboard and find the session directly.
2. Find the session
Locate the session you need to take attendance for and click on the "Enrolled: #" link on the right side. Note: you can use the filters at the top of the page if you have a lot of sessions to search through.
3. Confirm the date
Click the "Show/take attendance" button. The date will be set to today's date if there's a class today. Change the date in “Attendance on” to take attendance for a different day.
4. Select the relevant students
You can filter the roster by "Grade" or "Status", and select all filtered students or relevant students.
Note: the Bulk sign in, Bulk sign out, and Unmarked-> Present/Absent buttons will be greyed out until students are selected with the check boxes.
5. Click the Bulk sign in or Bulk sign out button to sign in or out the students
Select the name of the person signing in or out the student, or select “Other” to enter the person’s name manually.
Once the signature has been collected, click either the sign in or sign out button. This will then return you to the roster, which will show which students have been signed in or out.
Signing in a student automatically marks them present in a class, but signing out a student does not.
6. Click the "Unmarked → Present/Absent” button to take attendance in bulk.
Note: Students already marked either present or absent are not affected by bulk attendance, so selecting all students will not overwrite previous attendance.
A pop-up window will appear, displaying the # of students that have been labeled as "Absent" and "Present", and it will ask if you'd like to label the unmarked # of students as "Present" or “Absent”.
Please confirm the number and answer "Yes" if you want to proceed.
All unmarked students will then be labeled as "Present" or “Absent” depending on your selection.
Students previously marked as present will not be changed to absent, and vice versa.
