A district's policy on allowing students to enroll in overlapping sessions can vary depending on different scenarios. For instance, while a student might not be permitted to enroll in overlapping enrichment programs, there could be situations where it is desirable to allow enrollment in the extended care program, even if it overlaps with enrichment programs.
There are two options that can be set up in your district profile to define the session conflict policy.
- From 6crickets homepage > Click "Districts & Schools" button > Click "My Dashboard" > "District Dashboard"
- From the district dashboard > Student registration setup > Session conflict policy
- From the page, you can update the answers to the following questions and save your updates:
- Is a student allowed to register for overlapping sessions of enrichment programs in the district?
- Answer No will prevent a student from enrolling in overlapping enrichment sessions. All programs are considered enrichment programs unless they are set up as an extended care program explicitly.
- Is a student allowed to register for overlapping sessions of extended care programs in the district?
- Answer No will prevent a student from enrolling in overlapping extended care sessions. Extended care programs need to be set up explicitly from the program settings, as indicated in the following section.
- Please note that:
- When a student tries to enroll in two overlapping sessions, one is an extended care program, another is an enrichment program, they will see a warning about the overlapping, but will always be able to ignore the warning and enroll in both sessions.
- The policy prevents students from registering in violation of the policy. It doesn't invalidate existing rosters. For example, if a student registered for overlapping sessions while overlapping was allowed, and then the district disallows it, the student doesn't get kicked out or flagged or anything. However, if a student registers for one session, and then the district starts disallowing overlaps when the student tries to register for a session that overlaps the first one, the second registration will be prevented.

By default, all programs are considered as enrichment programs. You'd need to set up a program as an extended care program explicitly to apply the policy defined above for extended care programs. Please follow the steps below to set up an extended care program:
- From 6crickets homepage > Click "Providers" button > Click "My Dashboard"
- From the provider dashboard or left menu > Camps & classes > Programs
- Locate the program you'd like to set up as an extended care program > Click "Edit Program & Its Sessions"
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page > Answer "Yes" to the question "Is this an extended care program?" > Save.
If a parent attempts to add a session that conflicts with another session in the student's schedule, the following message will be displayed, and the session will not be added to their cart.
